Grundausbildung I I

The Second Grundausbildung was conducted in Knoxville, TN. on 16 Januar 1999.  Over 40 unit

members and potential Kandidats were in attendance on a beautiful Tennessee day with temperatures

in the high 60's.  Presentations were conducted on Unit History, Standards of Conduct, and Awards

and Decorations. Special thanks go out to the following individuals for their excellent preparation and

presentation of their classes:

                    Rick Pemberton        Rank Structure, Drill and Ceremonies

                    Rob Fraker               Uniforms, Field Gear

                    Dennis Medley          Weapons

Many awards and promotions were issued at the closing formation, the highlight being the promotion

of Rob Fraker to SS-Untersturmführer for his exceptional dedication to 1st Zug, 2nd Kompanie and

countless behind-the-scenes contributions to the LAH.   Additionally, Rob has attended almost 60

events in less than five years!  Congratulations on a well-deserved promotion, Rob!

Unfortunately, due to time constraints associated with the use of the facilities, the Unterführerschule

class was not conducted.  Thanks, anyway to Rick Pemberton for his usual professional

Unterführerschule class preparation and handouts.

Only 25 of the course critiques were completed and handed in. Of course, all rated the overall

Grundausbildung II event either Excellent or Very Good.   All of the comments (pro and con) are

appreciated and many will be taken into consideration to improve subsequent classes.

Grundausbilding III will be conducted based upon demand.
